For you who go ski touring or are exposing yourself to steep snow covered terrain, and wich to learn more about avalanches, weather, conditions, buddy rescue, and of course; how to find the best snow.
A three-day course with a natural progression where we're building the knowledge step by step.

The exact location for the course is decided based on snow and weather conditions. But the plan is to stay in Gloppen.

The structure for each day is something like this:

  1. A quick avalanche theory session
  2. Out and about. Experiencing snow, terrain, weather, and buddy rescue.
  3. Discussion and summing up the day.
Maximum number of participants: 6
Minimum number of participants: 4


  • February 18th, 8pm (the day before the course) in Sandane. Meeting for a quick chat.
  • Avalanche safety equipment (beacon, shovel, probe)
  • Skilled and experienced UIAGM/IFMGA guide
You fix:
  • ​​​​​​Food and accommodation
  • Ski equipment (skis, boots, poles, skins - all suitable for skitouring)
  • Personal outdoor gear like clothing, backpack, goggles etc.
